Ursuline's Kitchen Opens in Merrillville....

Do you need some history to go with good food and fine beer? Then how about giving Ursuline's Kitchen in Merrillville a try. Located at 20 West 79th Avenue, Ursuline's features Cajun and Creole favorites, as well as Louisiana's own Abita Beer.

Founded in Italy in 1535 by Angela Morici, the Ursuline order later established the Ursuline Academy in New Orleans in 1727. Throughout the past three centuries, the Ursulines have been famous for championing women's rights, minority rights and all through the years, they have helped to develop and refine Creole cooking. Many of today's Creole recipes are taken from the records of Ursuline kitchens and Ursulines Kitchen continues that legacy right here in Indiana.
